Participation and recruitment
You can miss a maximum six races per season before your seat will be made available.
You MUST announce in advance if you are going to miss a race.
If you fail to show up for two races without advance notice, your seat will be made available. Exceptions can be made for reasons important enough, as deemed by the Marshalls.
New drivers get two weeks, beginning on the day of being allowed access to the Downloads and VF1 Drivers Only forums, of "settling" into the league, after those two weeks they have to compete in two of their first three races.
Licenses
Two type of licenses.
We have 33 possible permanent drivers with a super license, 22 in the regular cars and 11 in the "test or third car".
New drivers joining the league get a test license for a minimum of 3 races.
To be granted a superlicense a driver needs to show up for the next three races and demonstrate a good level of skill and behavior.
Drivers with a test license lose their seat without explanation if they do not fulfill the requirements of point #3.
Permanent drivers who do not show up for 3 races without a valid explanation or have had bad behavior on the track will lose their super license and get a test license. To get their super license back they need to fulfill the requirements of point #3.
Drivers with any type of license will lose their seat if they do not show up for a total of 6 races during the season.
Driving Aids
Only the following aids
will be allowed :
Shifting
Clutch
Chat
You are not allowed to use
chat during the race. Penalty is 1 Point.
Damage
The only damage that can be
fixed on the car is if you lose a front wing or rear wing, if you lose a wheel
or bend the suspension there is nothing they can do about it in the pits. Also
when you lose your rear wing it will take about 30 seconds or so to be replaced,
so be patient in the pits even though they don't look like they are doing
anything.
If a driver loses a wheel and continues to drive the car on the track and
impedes, alters the racing line, or causes another driver to have an accident
the driver will lose 5 championship points.
If a driver crashes out of the race and cannot continue to race, it is now allowed to leave the server before the end of the race.
DQ
Disqualifications for any
reason (including internet connection or hardware malfunction) will be treated
as an act of God. The driver’s race day is over and will receive the points on
the standings
Flags
Flags will be handled by the game and the driver will serve out the penalty as
the game dictates.
Enforcement
Once a protest has been made the league administrators will go over the replays
and determine if a rule violation has occurred. The penalty will be handed out
according to the rule violated. The decision of the Administrator is final.
Blocking
Blocking: The failure of a driver to use mirrors to acknowledge the presence of
other competitors, yield to lapping competitors, or alter the racing line more
than once based on the actions of pursuing competitors is not allowed. The
alteration of a racing line based on the actions of pursuing competitors, or the
use of an abnormal racing line to inhibit or prevent passing is not allowed.
Corners as well as the approach and exit zones thereof, may be negotiated by the
drivers in any way they wish, within the limits of the track. Blocking,
according to these circumstances, may be done.
Violators will be penalized by a loss of 2 points in both the Championship for
each infraction of this rule
Corner
Rights
A driver must establish substantial overlap with the car ahead before a corner's
turn-in point. Substantial overlap means at least that the front of the behind
car is up to the driver's position in the ahead car. The ahead driver has ever
right to be fully committed to the racing line of his choice without any
interference if there was no overlap before he turned in.
If a driver causes an accident and does not have at least the front of the car
at the ahead cars drivers position at the corner turn-in point. that driver will
be penalized by a loss of 2 points in both the Championship and Constructors
series
If the driver does have the substantial overlap and the ahead driver comes down
on the behind car and causes an accident, that driver will be penalized by a loss
of 2 points in both the Championship and Constructors series.
If a driver does violate this rule but is the only one involved in an accident
no points will be deducted.
Hit from
behind/side
Hit from behind/side; any driver that hits another driver from behind/side, that
was not himself hit from behind/side and causes that driver to lose control, go
off track, or end his race.
·
The driver must do a drive through penalty within 2 laps for each crash (the
only exception is if it is in the last lap of the race, in this case the drive
through has to be done immediately).
If
your car is damaged, get it fixed immediately and serve the drive through
penalty in the next lap. Fixing damage, does not count as a drive through
penalty.
·
If the car
you hit loses any parts and/or can not continue the race, additional to the
drive through, the driver will be penalized by a loss of 2 points in the
Championship ( this penalty might be avoided if after reviewing the replay the
Jury determines that the incident was caused due to lag). All incidents of this
nature must be reported by the crashed driver (see protest procedures in this
document).
·
If the
driver does not serve the penalty, the driver will be penalized by a loss of 3
points in the Championship. This will be additional to any point penalties.
·
If a driver
hits any car from behind more then 2 times during any one race, the driver will
be penalized by a loss of 5 points in the Championship. This will be additional
to any point penalties.
·
If you hit
a driver from behind on the last lap you will be penalized by a loss of 3 points
in the Championship.
·
If you hit
a car from behind and that car is already completely out of control, disabled,
or otherwise not able to continue racing in a safe manor you do not have to pit
and will not lose any points.
Off Track
Off track: any car that has all four tires off the track
must yield the racing
line
to all visible traffic in front of or behind the car.
The car must not alter any drivers racing line while re-entering the track.
It is not allowed to gain positions by cutting the track. The pilot has to let
the affected driver(s) re-gain their position(s) immediately.
Violators will be penalized by a loss of 2 points in both the Championship and
Constructors series. 5 points in both the Championship and Constructors series
will be taken away if you cause in accident.
Spins
Spins: any car positioned more then 90 degrees off the normal racing direction
must immediately stop if any part of the car is on the track and not move the
car until all visible traffic is clear. If the car is completely off the track,
the driver is allowed to correct the car as long as the car does not enter the
track during the correction.
Violators will be penalized by a loss of 2 points in both the Championship and Constructors series. 5 points in both the Championship and Constructors series will be taken away if you cause in accident.
Protest
The league will not
review each race, it is up to the individual drivers to report any rule
violations.
The league Marshalls for the 2007 season are:
Juan Amaya
Itay Rousso
Dennis Grebe
Tom Oliver
Here are the procedures:
Enter
the following information in the Race Protests section of the forum.Drivers
involved in the incident, type of violation and bookmark (location) in the
replay.
Send an
email to
mailto:juan.p06@hotmail.com
notifying the incident.
The
league Marshalls, the offender and the offended drivers will be notified.
The protest will be discussed amongst the affected parties. This will be
done at the forum.
You
will have only two days after the race to report an incident. If you are
involved in an incident you will be contacted as we want to hear everybody's
side. If you do not reply within two days you will have to accept the
Marshall decision.
If
there is a protest the race results will not be official until a verdict is
issued
Restarts
Restarts
will only be allowed for any of the following reasons:
· The server crashes
· 50% of the field leaves the server before the end of the 1st lap. Note: it is not allowed to chat and ask for restart before 50% of the field is out of the race.
Safety
If a driver causes an accident on the first lap of a race three consecutive
races in a row, that driver will be suspended for one race. If a driver is
suspended more than twice in one season that driver will not be allowed to
compete in the rest of the season.
If a driver causes several accidents during a race, the driver will be disqualified from that race, losing all the points. He also may be banned for one or several races, or even expelled from the league depending on the severity of the incidents.
· Races will be run full length (100% duration)
· The damage model will be 75%
· Mechanical failures “on”
· Parc Ferme rules in place (see details below)
· Tyre wear and fuel usage set to normal
· Tyre changes are allowed during pit stops
· Aids allowed: auto shifting, lunch control, clutch
· Rev limit has been removed from the garage options. Boost mapping will be used to control the RPM limit. Every additional level of boost mapping will give an extra 125 RPM. A boost mapping of 4 should let you run at the standard 18500 RPM, which is the base RPM for lifetime calculations. So at a boost mapping of 4, you have no engine wear penalty, below 4 you get longer engine runtime, but less power.
Parc Ferme Rules:
· Qualifying with race fuel. It is not possible to re-fuel after finishing qualifying. Only until the race starts.
· Type of tyres will be locked after qualifying ( ex. If you qualify with mediums, you have to race with mediums)
· Changeable settings in Parc Ferme (everything else will be locked):
· Fuel strategy.
· Brake bias.
· Brake pressure.
· Engine settings (boost mapping, engine brake map).
Qualifying:
· We will have 1 hot lap qualifying session. 1 out lap, 1 hot lap, 1 in lap. You can press ESC to return to the garage after finishing your hot lap. The session will be private with no other cars on the track.
· It takes place the same day of the race.
·
Very
important.
NO CHATTING,
wait until the session
finishes before using Chat.
Race Start Time:
The race day will start around 10:30 am EST North America, so you can have some Practice time. Qualifying will start at anytime between 12:00 – 12:10 pm, so make sure you are there before that. If for some reason you can not be on time for qualifying, you can still join during Warm up.
During the Warm up session, which should only take a couple of minutes, the drivers must remain in the garage. The drivers must load the set up and listen to last minute instructions. And finally the race will start.
Server availability:
If for some reason the
server is not available, and we can not find a good solution 30 minutes before
qualifying starts, the race will postponed.
Important:
If you have an accident or
mechanical failures and can not continue safely, press ESC and go to the garage.
You can leave the server if you want.
